CES 597 - Clinical Mental Health Practicum
3 Credit Hour(s)
The supervised practicum experience provides students the opportunity to engage in the practice of clinical mental health counseling in a community setting under the clinical supervision of licensed practitioners. Practicum students perform a variety of counseling activities including client assessment and treatment using effective counseling skills with clients based upon sound professional principles. Students must display the ability to integrate theory and practice equivalent to that of a competent beginning counselor and show capacity for continued learning and growth on job. Additional course fee required.
Prerequisite(s): Approved Application for Clinical Training Required.
