CS 360 - Computer Architecture


4 Credit Hour(s)

Students will explore the design and operation of modern computer systems, covering fundamental principles of digital logic, processor architecture, memory hierarchy, and input/output mechanisms. Students will engage in hands-on activities, including virtual design of digital circuits, programming in assembly language, and evaluating architectural trade-offs. Key topics include digital logic fundamentals, the fetchexecute cycle, RISC architecture and assembly language, memory management, input/output implementation, and performance considerations in modern computing systems.

Prerequisite(s): C or higher CS 240   or Instructor Permission
