BIO 280 - Introductory Cell Biology 3 Credit Hour(s)
Biology majors will examine in greater detail the architecture and structure of the biological cell, with an emphasis on the eukaryotes. Major topics include a detailed examination of biomolecules and detailed examination of membranes, membrane transport and regulation of osmolarity, intracellular organelles and the cytoskeleton. Students will examine cellular respiration, photosynthesis, cellular communication, the cell cycle and the machinery of mitosis, and the formation and organization of tissues.
Prerequisite(s): C or higher in BIO 111 , CEM 152 and sophomore standing Offered: Spring
