BIO 406 - Biostatistics


3 Credit Hour(s)

A broad exploration of the application of inferential statistics for decision-making in the biological and health sciences. Topics include visual representation of data, formulation and testing of hypotheses, experimental design, and parametric and non-parametric statistical methods, such as chi-square, t and z-tests, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). As part of a major course project, students apply their knowledge to answer a novel scientific question. Statistics software is used.

Prerequisite(s): MTH 232   or equivalent, 12 semester hours of Biology or other Science, and Junior Standing
