BIO 253 - Genetics Laboratory

This laboratory course provides hands-on experience with fundamental techniques in genetics, complementing the concepts covered in the accompanying lecture. Students will conduct experiments in classical Mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, and population genetics using model organisms and modern molecular tools. Emphasis is placed on hypothesis testing, data analysis, and scientific communication. Laboratory activities include DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, genetic crosses, and bioinformatics applications.
